Natural Treatment For Scabies
Scabies, commonly called the seven-year itch, is an easily spread, itchy skin disease. It's created by a mite referred to as Sarcoptes scabiei, a really small and almost invisible parasite with 8 legs, that burrows in your skin and leads to intense allergic itching. It's the female mites that feed off us; they are typically 0,3 mm to 0,4 mm small and their male counterparts are roughly half their length.
A magnifying glass or microscope can be used to see the mites. Although mites can survive in temperatures below 20 degrees C, they cannot move in such conditions. They crawl, since that are unable to jump or fly. As they try to lay eggs, they suck the host's blood and flesh, causing a crawling sensation which can be painful and disturbing.
Scabies can be transmitted through a skin-to-skin contact. Scabies cannot be transmitted by shaking hands, or hanging a coat next to an infected owner due to its need for very close human contact interaction. Sexual physical contact could transmit the disease. Scabies has already been considered as a sexually transmitted disease as it is common among sexually active young people.
Scabies are found in various places. Not only can they be found in areas easily seen by others like the wrists, back of elbows, knees, and feet, but they can also be found between fingers, on waists, in armpit folds, around nipples, on buttocks, and in the genital area. However, in the cases of infants and young children, scabies appears on the head, face, neck, palms, and the soles of the feet. One's daily routine can be inconvenienced with mites so get rid of them quickly.
A convenient method of scabies treatment is scabicide drugs. Permethrin and ivermectin are used for the treatment of scabies. One of the most efficient scabies treatments is Permethrin, which is applied from the neck down and washed off after 8 to 14 hours. Alternately, a treatment for crusted scabies is ivermectin- an oral anti-parasitic medicine.
Other scabies treatments include lindane, crotamiton, sulfur preparations and antihistamines. Lindane is like permethrin, which is applied in the same manner, however, it can cause seizure if it is applied in a very irritated or wet skin. Cortamiton, on the other hand, is both a lotion and cream while sulfur prepared in petrolatum is used as a cream and is known to be the most traditional form of scabies treatment. Just the opposite, antihistamines only relieve itching.
The only way scabies home treatment will work is if it is administered to every single infected person so that there is no chance of people reinfecting each other. Household items such as rugs, linens, bedclothes, wardrobe, furniture, etc. should be disinfected. as the mites die quickly without human hosts.
